Fakenham

Between the historic city of Norwich and the port of Kings Lynn lies the market town of Fakenham. A thriving town with a popular market, racecourse and a great selection of pubs and restaurants, Fakenham is a perfect place to stay in Norfolk.

Shopping in Fakenham

Visit Fakenham on a Thursday for the weekly market. Local traders set up their stalls around the town over two locations so you will find plenty to explore and lots of bargains too. Also every Thursday, the Cornhall in Fakenham has a weekly auction where you can bid for antiques, furniture and collectables. Fakenham Farmer's Market takes place once a month on the fourth Saturday with around 25-35 stalls selling fresh, organic goodies, including many products that can't be found in any supermarket.

The town centre has a full range of shops including news agents, four banks, boots chemist, Argos, card/gift shops, and a Tesco supermarket within walking distance of Erika's B&B and a Morrisons supermarket on the edge of town.

Fakenham can cater for all tastes and appetites with nine pubs and restaurants to choose from serving traditional English cuisine plus a number of coffees shops, a Chinese, Thai and Indian.

 

 

The Bird ID Company

The Bird ID Company offers a variety of birdwatching tours throughout the year to well known reserves in Norfolk and Suffolk, all of these provide fantastic opportunities to see a wide range of different birds in and around Norfolk. Birdwatching tours range from one day trips to five day holidays during migration times. Bird ID cater for all abilities from complete beginners who are interested in a general selection of birds to more experienced birdwatchers who may be targeting certain species.
